Transportation of waste

By means of the intermodal service it is possible to carry out the transportation of waste products both within the country and abroad, in compliance with the stipulations of Legislative Decree 152/06 of EC Regulation 1013/2006, with the other standards relating to goods, and all the regulations of the rail system.

The client who has never sent waste by the intermodal system or who has never sent waste by a particular route, should confirm with CEMAT which rail carriers are involved and if they hold the necessary authorization to transport waste.

There is also a particular procedure laid down for accepting waste transport to reduce waiting-time at the reception counter; copies of this procedure, also listing the documents required for shipments, can be downloaded from the website.
